"First is Best"

This is the first foal of the mare Carbrecel who contested a number of the major fillies and mares races during the 2001 racing season.

Trained by Peter Moody, Carbrecel won five races and was placed three times from a total of twenty two starts at the highest level.

She finished only three lengths behind the subsequent dual Caulfield Cup and Melbourne Cup winner ETHEREAL in the QLD OAKS (G1) after a fast finishing effort in the GRAND PRIX (G2) two weeks earlier.

This colt was born on 6th September 2003.

He is a precocious type and looks a ready made racehorse.

The mating of Carbrecel with King Cugat has been a deliberate attempt to take advantage of the Northern Dancer cross in both the sire and mare lines and to utilise what should prove to be the highly successful nick of Mr. Prospector related sons with Last Tycoon related daughters.

"Derby Winner"

This well presented colt is a full brother to the Gai Waterhouse trained Pink 'n' Black who had two Sydney metropolitan wins to his credit.

The mare Cherete (by Centro), herself a city winner in Adelaide, has had four foals to race and they are all winners.

While this colt looks a ready made sprinter and an early two old, his pedigree suggests that he will be a major force to be reckoned with as a three year old.

There are Derby winners galore in this family.

His sire THUNDER GULCH (USA) is a grandson of MR. PROSPECTOR and is the winner of the Kentucky Derby (G1).

His second dam Real Charmer is by GROSVENOR the winner of the Victoria Derby (G1). She is an unraced sister to OMNICORP who also was successful in the Victoria Derby (G1).

Both CENTRO and GROSVENOR also won the Caulfield Guineas (G1).

This colt was born on 21st November 2003.

"A Winning Family"

This good looking filly belongs to a winning family.

The mare, Dawn Queen (by Centro), is an unraced half sister to BEAT THE FADE and DAWN TILL DUSK.

BEAT THE FADE won the Emancipation Stakes (G1) and was 2nd in the Coolmore Classic (G2) to SUNLINE. In between these races she ran 4th in the Queen of the Turf Stakes (G2). DAWN TILL DUSK won the WRC Cuddle Stakes (G3).

The sire of this filly is Honours List (IRE), the most precocious son of Danehill and already a resounding success with his first crop being in great demand at this year's sales.

This filly was born on 31st October 2003.
