"A Golden Slipper
Filly"
This nice looking filly was born on 28th
August 2004 and is the third foal of the
King’s Theatre mare
Excellent.
The bonus for buyers with this filly is
a combination of stout breeding bloodlines
coupled with an excellent racing background.
Her sire, Clang, is a
grandson of the amazing Mr. Prospector.
As a racehorse, Clang was
a Stakes winner on five occasions including
the STC Silver Slipper (G2).
He produced the AJC Derby (G1)
winner Clangalang who proved
to be as good as his sire by winning the
AJC Epsom Handicap (G1).
He is already proving to be an exceptional
sire himself.
This filly is bred to win the Golden Slipper.
Just look at the MM catalogue and go back
only two generations. You will see Luskin
Star, Sweet Embrace
and Rory’s Jester
who all won the STC Golden Slipper (G1).
One generation behind is Todman,
the inaugural and arguably the best Slipper
winner as well as Crown
Jester who as John Hawkes
said, “Would have won with a leg in
the air if the track was dry.” Incidentally,
he was beaten by the Victorian colt Full
On Aces who was a son of Kaoru
Star. Historically, Crown
Jester went on to sire the 1997
Slipper winner Guineas.
Crown Jester is by Baguette
who won the Slipper in 1970. |
Her mother,
Excellent, is from Rory’s
Classic, the dam of All
Classic who both won the QTC CE
McDougall Stakes (LR).
Rory’s Classic is
by Rory’s Jester by Crown
Jester by Baguette.
So the Slipper tradition continues.
This filly is a precocious type who will
develop into a ready made racehorse.
