Candoo Kid our first breeding success - 6 May 2005

The Blackshaw Racing Stables 2 Year Old Maiden over 1108m at Moe on Saturday 6th May might not have been a significant event for many race-goers but it certainly had the Couzinz and Bill Duncan Bloodstock people cheering wildly as it produced their first breeding success.

The race was taken out by Candoo Kid, the first foal of Autumn Day (Bellotto- Flurry's Autumn) and by the most consistent sire of young sprinters, Canny Lad. It was an extremely encouraging win as Candoo Kid was forced to race four wide until the home turn, forged to the lead and held off all challenges.

The horse was sold at the Inglis Melbourne Yearling Sales in 2002 for $30,000 and purchased by Ken King from Go Equities Pty Ltd. He is trained by Wendy Kelly at Cranbourne.

Autumn Day has produced two fillies by Honours List in the last two seasons. Her 2002 yearling was purchased by Byron Cozamanis on behalf of Tony Santic at the 2005 Magic Million Yearling Sales.
