| Couzinz
takes great pleasure in announcing the appointment of
Eleanor Osborne to the position of Business Support
Manager for the Couzinz Operation at Allora on the Darling
Downs.
Eleanor’s appointment
marks another milestone in the development and evolution
of Couzinz. Her role will encompass day to day contact
with clients, assisting Bill Duncan with expanding administrative
responsibilities as well as hands on involvement across
the broad spectrum of horse work undertaken on the property
under the supervision of Stud Manager, Ian Crompton.
Eleanor is no stranger
to thoroughbreds since her immediate and extended family
has been involved in thoroughbred breeding and horse
racing all of her life. Many of her childhood holidays
were spent on thoroughbred establishments.
Having commenced riding
at the age of 9 years, she is now an accomplished rider
and has competed with great success in equestrian competitions
in dressage, show-jumping, hacking and horse trial events
during her school days at Somerville House Girls School.
Today she continues her intense involvement with horses
by campaigning two thoroughbred eventers with ambitions
to succeed at a high level in her sport.
Over the last year, Eleanor
has been a part-time participant in Couzinz activities
while completing her tertiary education in Design Studies
within the Bachelor of Architecture Degree at the University
of Queensland. Nevertheless, she has managed to be intimately
involved in the preparation and presentation of Couzinz’
Yearling Parades and Magic Millions drafts of yearlings
in 2005 and 2006, giving her invaluable insight into
the hands on and marketing sides of the industry.
While continuing to study
towards a Level 1 Riding Instructors qualification,
Eleanor is now able to immerse herself in her passion
for thoroughbreds and direct her energies full- time
to assist Couzinz in its aim to gain recognition as
a professional, ethical and knowledgeable thoroughbred
business through premium service for clients.
Eleanor commenced with
the Couzinz business on 1st March 2006.
